Ability: This ship gets +1 to her cannon rolls
against the Cursed.
Now this is something we've never seen before. A
five-masted ship with
S+L speed? She's got above-average marks already.
Her cannons are average, but with a nice mix of S
and L to hit any target. She needs a world-hater to
bring her gunnery up to snuff.
Amazingly, her linked crew (Crimson Angel) does just
that, plus a same-action-twice, for a bargain price
of 5 points (SAT usually costs 3, and world-hater is
always 4). The bonus against the Cursed means more
in Ocean's Edge than it would have in Davy Jones'
Curse, because there are many more Cursed ships and
monsters to shoot at now. Cargo is average for a big
ship, but since your world-hater is linked, you have
more room to play with than you'd expect.
Never before has there been a five-masted ship that
didn't need a Helmsman for full effectiveness. A
Captain and Crimson Angel are all you really need,
for a sail-away cost of 24. Without the Angel, you
can substitute Bruce Grey for the +1 on cannon
rolls, and add Le Requin for the SAT, for two points
more. With the Angel (which is the only way to play
her), the Deliverance becomes one of the best
gunships in the game, in the same league as the HMS
Titan and USS Enterprise.
