This ship is a puzzler. Her speed, ability, and
point cost all say "gold ship." But her cargo,
perhaps a gold ship's most important value, just
isn't there. She'd make a decent gold runner if you
didn't mind leaving some gold behind, but who wants
to do that? When a pirate pillages a wild island, he
doesn't want to leave anything for the enemy to
scavenge, no matter how low its value.
The Lady Newport would also make a decent second
fighter. The only problem with this role is that you
could use the Longshanks instead, get the exact same
speed and cannons, and save three points. If the
Longshanks isn't in your collection, this ship might
be an acceptable substitute.
At least you have a choice of roles for this ship;
she can be a fast runner of small chunks of gold, or
an okay fighter. She's not a great ship, but her
price isn't outrageous, and her speed and
flexibility put her in the "decent" category.
