Ability: Forts cannot hit this ship.
Forts went away with the Barbary Coast series, so
this ship's ability isn't very useful anymore. Let's
assume that this ship has no special ability at all.
Is she any good?
For ten points, the answer is definitely "yes." Good
speed and three decent cannons add up to a potent
secondary fighter, to be used like any other
secondary fighter. Namely, to pick on smaller ships
and support your big gunship. You could use her for
gold in a pinch, but there are better gold ships out
there. And, should you play someone who still uses
forts, this ship could be a very nasty surprise
indeed. Sail up to it, do your worst, and just grin
when the fort tries to shoot back.
Sticking your tongue out might be overkill.
This ship costs one point more than the Flying Fish,
carries one more mast and cannon, and has a less
useful ability. She isn't an all-purpose ship, but
she's a good value.

Boston
For one point more than the Flying Fish this ship
has an extra mast. Otherwise the stats are identical
(two 3S cannon and a 3L). It also has a much less
useful ability ”Forts cannot hit this ship”. Spiffy.
Except I’ve never seen a Fort in play (granted I
came late to the game) and a would surmise that by
the time one sets up a fort the opponent will either
be defeated or have most of the gold. Still the
Boston is a ship with an average points cost. She
might make a decent second rate fighter, but I’d
rarely use her, preferring something like the pirate
ship Raven instead. The Boston gets 2/5.
