Masts: 3 (rating: 3 / 5)
Cargo: 5 (rating: 3.5 / 5)
Moves: S+S+S (rating: 5 / 5)

Hit %: 150 (S), 50 (L)
Keyword: Galley
Ability: L-range cannons cannot hit this ship.
Somewhere during the development of the Barbary
Corsairs faction, someone at WizKids must have
looked at the ships' stats and thought, "What a
mediocre bunch of barges! They need something good."
And this is it, baby.
This fine ship would be a worthwhile addition to any
fleet; I think she's the best ship the Corsairs have
got. I know of no other ship anywhere that combines
maxed-out speed, above-average cargo, reasonable
cannons, and a useful ability, especially not for an
average price.
This ship can do it all. She's a superb gold runner,
with blazing speed and room for an Explorer and four
cargo. As a fighter, she's average but not bad; add
a Captain (and Murat Rais, the Barbary world-hater)
and she's in good shape to chase down enemy gold
ships and get the drop on avenging warships. Galleys
were made for ramming; put Wesley on this one for
the +1 boarding bonus, and she has the speed to
catch her prey, and plenty of room for stolen goods,
plus she can fire her cannons when she's done
boarding. In all of these roles, roughly 1/3 of the
cannons she faces can't hurt her, due to her special
ability.
Sure, it would be nice if her cannons were 2-rank,
but you can't have everything, and the Tiger's Eye
already has just about everything else.
This ship gets full marks, and she deserves it.

Tiger's Eye
Barbary Corsair ships are often looked upon as
pretty but very hard to play. With an emphasis on
speed and boarding the Barbary Corsair ships often
have difficulty in a toe to toe fight. The Tiger's
Eye emphasizes speed (S+S+S)and while it has
adequate cannons (two 3S and a 3L), it's cargo hold
(5 spaces) is what really makes this ship tick.
Coupled with the special ability the Tiger's Eye can
get in and get out with minimal fuss. If you can get
your hands on the very hard to get crew I would put
an explorer and maybe even a helmsman on this ship
and head for an island closer to your opponent to
pick it clean. Other ships can take care of the
closer islands (there are quite a few 6 point ships
in the Barbary Corsair fleet). I would even hazard
leaving the explorer on the island. The loss of one
point will be worth it if there is good gold on the
island.
The Tiger's Eye matches excellent speed and cargo
size along with the cool look of the galley (though
I prefer the untattered look of Nubian Prince) and
garners a 5/5 for its clearly defined role and
excellent point cost (12).
