Ability: Once per turn, this ship may randomly take
one treasure from any ship she touches.
Here's another ship whose main mission seems a bit
muddy. Her ability makes you ram and get pinned, and
possibly boarded as well. That's usually bad news
for a two-masted ship. Her large cargo is meant for
collecting gold, and her speed is just adequate for
that. Her cannons are strictly average for a
two-master; battle is not something she should seek
out.
If I were HMS Half Moon's captain, I'd put a
Helmsman on her and chase down enemy gold ships with
2 masts or less. I'd ram to take down a mast, and
then board to get a [low-value] treasure. Then I'd
use her ability to take another treasure, which will
almost always be better than the first one. The gold
ship will probably run away if it can, which leaves
me free to head home, and pick up two more treasures
from a wild island on the way. The enemy won't let
me get away with this more than once, so I'd spend
the rest of the game as a fast gold ship. If the
Half Moon's first cruise doesn't pay for itself, the
second one will.
