Link : HMS Interceptor, HMS Dauntless
Ability: This ship can move and shoot using the same
move action. This ship gets +1 to her cannon rolls
against non-English ships.
Pirates of the Caribbean is supposed to come out
this week, so these will be our last PotC reviews
based on sneak peeks.
Admiral Norrington (wasn't he a commodore in the
movie?) is essentially the same crew as Hermione
Gold, a combo captain and world-hater for seven
points. The only difference is he's a Common and
she's a Rare.
That's good news for English players, who don't have
a 4 point Common world-hater like most factions do.
His combination of abilities won't save you any
points, but the combo does save a cargo space, and
he gets a choice of two ships on which he takes up
no space at all.
Norrington would be a good choice for any big
English gunship, except for ships like HMS Hastings
that get +1 if a Captain is on board. He'd be
crushing on HMS Grand Temple. Wherever you put him,
make sure it's a decently fast ship with many
cannons. We'll see if the Dauntless turns out to be
a good place for him.

This is the first card from the “Pirates of the
Carribean” set I’ve seen and it’s got an old, useful
power that makes it rather bland but also rather
useful. The +1 to her cannons is against all
non-English ships too, so you can use the Admiral
effectively against all the old sets. Plus, he gets
links to two ships: the HMS Interceptor and the HMS
Dauntless.
Seven points is a good cost for such a captain, the
+1 to non-English ships, and links to two boats.
