Cadet-Captain Mike
Name: Meshud
Card: BC #013 (Common)
Points: 11
Faction: Corsairs
Masts: 3
Cargo: 4
Moves: S+L
Guns : 2S, 3S, 3S
Hit %: 167 (S), 0 (L)
Keyword: Galley.
Ability: This ship gets +1 to her cannon rolls and
boarding rolls against French ships.
This is a fine choice for the Corsair player who
expects to face French opponents. Her guns' accuracy
rises to 217% when firing on the Tricolor, and she
also gets a +1 on boarding (which is what Galleys
are best at).
She's not exceptional otherwise. But she isn't bad -
any time you can get three decent cannons, S+L, and
four cargo for less than 12 points, you're doing
well.
Meshud needs a Captain, or a crew like Wesley if you
plan to do much boarding. She should seek out French
ships, and board or attack as the situation
warrants. You can use her as a secondary fighter, or
as a slightly pricey gold ship, if the French don't
show up. But the Algiers is a much better gold ship
for the same price. And if the French ship you meet
is the original Le Bonaparte, you're toast - you
have no L cannons, so you can't hit her. Meshud is a
ship for an aggressive player who knows what his
opponents are likely to use.
