Cadet-Captain Mike
Name: Guinee (Cursed)
Card: OE #007 (Uncommon)
Points: 12
Masts: 3
Cargo: 4
Moves: S
Guns : 3S,3S,3S
Hit %: 150 (S), 0 (L)
Ability: Once per turn, one crew or ship within S of
this ship cannot use its ability that turn.
The Guinee is a slow, unremarkable three-master with
reasonable cargo, reasonable cannons, and an ability
that Cursed players should be thankful for, since
they have so few of the other common abilities. With
a bit more speed, or a lower price tag, she could be
a great ship.
If I say "this ship needs a Helmsman" one more time,
will you be mad at me? Well, she does need one,
desperately. If you can't give her that speed boost,
then just leave her home. Once she's up to S+S
speed, though, she can probably bring her ability to
bear pretty frequently.
Whether you give her a Captain or not is up to you.
Her cannons are adequate for landing a hit or two
each turn. But she's already kind of expensive, and
if you want a 3-masted Cursed fighter in this price
range, the Grim Reaper or Sea Monkey will serve you
better.
The bottom line is that the Guinee exists for her
ability and little else. You can grab some gold if
you have to run home for repairs, and you can shoot
if you must. But the Guinee's true role is to
support her bigger sisters. And 12 points is a bit
steep for that.
