Isabela, 12 points, Spanish
Masts: 4
Cargo: 5
Speed: S
Cannons: 3S 3L 3L 3S
Abilities: One of this ship's treasures is worth +2
gold when unloaded at your home island.
Flavor Text: The crew of the Isabella know that they
are judged only by how much plunder they bring back
to Spain—not on the ships they sink or the lands
they explore. So they make sure they have a full
hold whenever they dock.
The name of this ship is awesome, it brings back
such great memories from when I saw the movie
'Elizabeth: The Golden Age'. Whenever King Philip II
talked to his daughter, Isabela, it just had this
weird accent that I came to love. Of course, Spain
lost. Which made me cry a bit inside. At least they
were winning for the beginning part. Anyway, onto
the ship. Actually, not yet. The Isabela is the
second ship, to my memory, that has the Spanish flag
ON its masts. The first is La Reconquistador, from
Pirates at Ocean's Edge. I probably know more about
trivial Spanish stuff than anyone. Well, besides a
few. Now, onto the ship.
Spain received 3 abilities that give +2 to gold
unloaded, one of them being this ship. Now, this
ship seems extremely familiar. It seems a lot like
the Concepcion, which was reviewed earlier. The
differences are that this ship has much better
cannons, but worse speed. But this can be fixed!
First of all, Bianco's Haulers is a godsend to this
ship. Being able to unload within S is priceless.
Also, you will want a helmsman. And, if you want,
Dominic Freda. But, most importantly, you will want
Hidden Cove, which automatically docks your ship at
a wild island.
Which is good. You will find these things essential.
Of course, why not just pay for La Joya de Sol, or
La Santa Isabel?
Oh yeah-this ship has better cannons. And looks
infinitely better.
But if you don't have either, by all means use this.
It's not too bad, it just needs some fixing.
The Isabela receives a 3/5 from me.
It's a little better than the Concepcion.
