Hit %: 267 (S), 0 (L)

away from her, without having to ram. The boarded
ship may not use any boarding bonuses.
The powers-that-be at WizKids have decided that the
S-board ability is something the Spanish especially
like. Of the 17 ships and 11 crew with this ability,
2 ships (including this one) and 3 crew hail from
Spain.
Only France can match that number, and most of the
French units are rares or LE's; three of the five
Spanish units are commons.
The Santo Columba seems to have been designed with
S-boarding in mind.
To use her cannons, she has to get into close range
anyway, and four masts give her good odds when
boarding. Her speed is reasonable, her cargo
adequate, for the boarding role. Her cannons are
quite good, once she's closed the range, so as a
fighter, she can knock sizable chunks out of
anything she cares to shoot at (except ships like
the Nubian Prince and Fallen Angel). She can even
run gold, although paying 14 points for an S+S gold
ship isn't the best way to win a battle.
All in all, the Santo Columba is above-average in
just about every way.
An L-range cannon or two would push her into the
"excellent" category.
If you like La Sirviente but wish she had more
firepower, give this ship a long, hard look.

Flavor Text: Capitan Guillen’s vicious
raiders have become a matter of national pride for
Spain, as its power declines and victories become
harder to achieve.
Santo Columba is a top notch Spanish fighter,
without a doubt. She's hard to bring down, has
enough cargo for a captain, helmsman, plus two other
Spaniards, she's fairly speedy for a large fighter,
and her cannons are something to be praised. Her
ability is also helpful for destroying an opponent's
crew, an ability that often goes under the wire. All
in all, Santo Columba is a ship one should build
their fleet around, a ship that can deal some hefty
damage if not careful.
