The original Lady's Scorn (from South China Seas)
was a five-masted thug with so-so cannons and
Broadside Attack. This version is a lot more
flexible, and much better-looking as well.
For 15 points, you get four decent cannons, decent
speed, decent cargo, and a useful ability, plus the
Eternal keyword. She's in good shape to do just
about anything you'd want a pirate ship to do. If
you add her linked crew, the combination of Calico
Cat's SAT and the ship's reroll means you'll be
getting a lot of SAT action. You'll also want a
Captain or similar crew, and adding a Helmsman would
make this ship a real killer. Bruce Grey, the Pirate
world-hater, would be a nice finishing touch.
The only bad thing I can say about this ship is
she's kind of expensive for a four-master. But
you're getting what you pay for.

Flavor Text: Sailors talk of the seas never being
without a lady scorned, and the Calico Cat’s newest
vessel proves it. This ship of the line is painted
blue so that she can blend into both the sea and sky
to surprise her suddenly numerous enemies.
Another ship that can't die. Great. Wizkids is
overusing the keyword "Eternal". It seems that thus
far every ship in the new pack can't be sunk. Lady's
Scorn, Calico Cat's newest tool in piracy, is one of
the most well rounded ships you'll find. She's hard
to bring down, has a hefty amount of cargo room,
moves fairly fast, and has respectable cannons. It's
the second part of her ability that makes her stand
out from the rest of the moderate four-masters.
Lady's Scorn can reroll any die roll she makes.
Let's say you sail up to a three-master and
basically broadsides it. You miss with two of the
four cannons, but then her ability comes into play.
Now you can reroll those two misses, granting you a
whole new opportunity to bring down that irksome
three-master. So all in all, Lady's Scorn can deal a
hefty amount of damage using its cannons and speed,
as well as being a well rounded four-master.

The Calico Cat has had many ships
in her career; some have been good, some have
been bad. This one looks like it falls about
into the middle of the category. It has an above
average move, better than average cannons, a
good ability, and a good cargo, for an
understandable point cost. But is it really
worth all 15 points? It has an extremely good
fighters ability, and just enough cargo to make
it a great fighter. It definitely has adequate
cannons for the job, and the reroll helps a lot
of the time, I've found. But 15 points is a lot,
and even though this ship is definitely
above-average in most of its stats, I think it
might not be quite worth it.
This ship
is a good fighter, don't get me wrong. It just
doesn't have enough mojo to make it great for
its cost. I still give it above-average
rankings, but there are quite a few ships out
there more fit to handle fighting than this one,
for slightly higher, or even equal, point costs.
