Name: Victor de Alva (Spain)
Card: FS #025 (Rare)
Points: 8
Ability: Loyal:Spain, Captain.
Once per turn, roll a d6. On a 5 or 6, this ship can
be given an extra action.
Victor is a typical combo crew,
giving two abilities (Captain and 2nd
action) but taking up only one
cargo space. The Loyal keyword usually translates
into a one-point reduction in price, and that's the
case here. This makes him an above-average value,
worthy of any good Spanish fighting ship. There are
plenty of those out there; pick your favorite and
put de Alva in command.

Name: Nemesio Diaz (Spain)
Card: SM #SC-010 (Common)
Points: 5
Ability: Once per turn, cancel the
ability of one crew or ship within S of this ship.
Spain has two ships with this
ability, in addition to Diaz; it's a tactic well
suited to Spain's combo tactics. The ability to shut
down another ship or crew's ability can be a
lifesaver if the enemy springs an unhittable
surprise on you, like a submarine or a ship that
can't be shot within S range. Or you can use it the
moment an enemy sails into range, turning off his
Captain and keeping him from shooting at you.
There are as many possibilities as
there are abilities to turn off.
Nemesio's price is typical for
crew like him, which means a slightly
better-than-average value for what he can do for
you. If you're planning a fighting strategy, this
kind of power for only four points can be a
wonderful thing.
