Nine points. Three cargo. S+L speed. Do you know
what this means?
This is what the Americans call a gold ship!
Yes, we USA fans are so starved for gold-running
skills that a ship like this, which would be
strictly second-rank in a British or Pirate fleet,
is one of the best gold-runners to fly the Stars and
Stripes. You certainly can't fault her speed. Cargo
could be better, but since she needs no crew, you
get all three spaces free for treasure. Forget her
cannons; like many gold ships (La Monarca, Banshee's
Cry, or Le Bon Marin), she got bad guns to force her
into the gold role. Her ability may save some time
by letting her take straight-line routes to the wild
islands, but then again, maybe not.
Goodness knows, this is not even close to the best
gold ship in the game. She's comparable to the
Brandywine, with the same cost, masts, speed,
ability, and lack of anything really exciting about
her. But it's been years since the USA got anything
that was even close to calling itself a gold ship.
If you play the Americans, you'll be glad to add
this one to your collection.
