Cadet-Captain Mike |
Name: Trinity (Spain)
Card: FS #002 (Rare)
Points: 15
Masts: 5
Cargo: 5
Moves: S
Guns : 3S, 3S, 3S, 3S, 3S
Hit %: 250 (S), 0 (L)
Ability: This ship gets +L to her
base move if she has all of her masts.
On the surface, there's so much
wrong with this ship. Her name should be Trinidad
(the Spanish word for "trinity"), and the triquetra
symbols on her mast are Celtic in origin, not
Iberian. But get beyond the surface and the Trinity
begins to look quite interesting.
5 cargo and S+L speed (as long as
she's intact) makes for an effective gold ship,
albeit an expensive one. She can ignore most
secondary fighters while she loads up, since five
masts can take more shots than most 2-masted ships
can dish out, and the Trinity's own cannons are
adequate to handle a 2-masted annoyance. You could
put a Captain on her, to make sure she can get a
shot off, but I'd leave her crewless to maximize her
cargo, and to keep from running her cost up any
higher. If you must put crew on her, Dominic Freda
(the combination explorer and
cargo-space) would be a worthy
choice, or you could use a Shipwright to repair her
at sea and recover her speed bonus. She could also
serve as a fighter, and she'd do okay, but unless
she's the only five-master you own, you can probably
find better fighting ships in your collection.
