Cadet-Captain Mike
Name: HMS Prince of Chichester (England)
Card: SC #050 (Uncommon)
Points: 13
Masts: 2
Cargo: 5
Moves: S+S
Guns : 2S,2S
Hit %: 133 (S), 0 (L)
Ability: This ship cannot be shot at by ships within
S of her.
With five cargo and S+S speed, plus the ultimate
defensive ability, the Prince of Chichester has
"gold ship" written all over her. But the writing
stops with the number 13, which is her high point
cost.
This is not to say that she's a bad gold ship. She
has room for a Helmsman to bump her up to triple-S
speed, and her ability can get her out of all kinds
of trouble. But if you want an English gold ship
with 5 cargo, you might prefer HMS Hyena or HMS Half
Moon, with the same speed, for only nine points. The
Prince of Chichester can fight with her two good
cannons, but her point cost could also buy you the
infinitely superior HMS Royal or HMS Forge.
I like versatility in a ship. The Prince of Chi can
run gold or fight well for a two-master. If she
weren't so darned expensive, I'd give her a higher
value rating. But she's an okay ship.
