Cadet-Captain Mike
Name: L'Heros (France)
Card: SC #079 (Common)
Points: 13
Masts: 3
Cargo: 4
Moves: S+L
Guns : 2S,2S,2S
Hit %: 201 (S), 0 (L)
Ability: This ship may dock at an enemy home island
and load one treasure.
If able, she must leave on your next turn.
WK has a long and inglorious history of making
home-island robbers without the speed needed to pull
off such a caper. But there are a very few
exceptions, and here we have one of them.
If you just want to steal gold from the enemy,
L'Heros needs no crew, although a Helmsman would put
her into the rocketship category and improve her
chances of getting in and out alive. You could also
add a Captain, so she can shoot her way in and out,
using those accurate cannons to best advantage. Or
you could use her as a medium fighter, and use her
ability as a bluff to keep the enemy guarding his
home instead of harassing you. That kind of double
threat is the key to an effective home island
robber; the enemy doesn't know exactly what your
ship will do, and he can't block both roles at once.
L'Heros' cannons aren't quite as good as the Lord
Lineton's, but her speed is much better, and she
costs less, too. She's a flexible ship that can use
her ability, or just grab gold, or go fighting, or
do a little of all three.
Masts: Three 3S guns make for a good fighter as long
as the enemy is up close.
Base Move: S+L is an excellent base move for a
raider.
Point Value: 13 points is a good deal for this ship.
She can do quite a bit of work.
The L'Heros can do just about any role you give with
either one or no crew members. A captain for
fighting and an explorer for gold running, but she
doesn't likely need a helmsman.
