Guns : 3S,2L,2L,3S
Hit %: 233 (S), 133 (L)
Ability: Once per turn, this ship may look at one
face-down treasure on any island.
Here we have a ship in the same category as the
peerless Darkhawk II -- a four-masted Pirate with a
reasonable price tag, deep cargo holds, and good
cannons. She isn't quite as good as that fabled
ship, but she's in the same league, and that's
saying a lot.
If you give her a Helmsman, you've got a speedy
gold ship with lots of room for treasure. Add a
Captain to the mix, and you've got the ultimate ship
-- the combo ship that can fight hard one turn and
clean out an island's worth of treasure on the next.
Her ability may or may not help you, but it sure
won't hurt.
Here's a Pirate fleet to terrify the enemy: the
Darkhawk II with Captain and Helmsman, and the
Raven's Neck with Captain and Helmsman.
That's two fighting ships (eight good cannons), and
also two gold ships (ten free cargo), all moving at
S+L speed, for only 32 points. Other factions can
only dream of a combination like that. Or team her
with the Raven and the HMS Raven with a Captain, for
a 40-point Raven Fleet that can fight (seven good
cannons) and run gold (ten free cargo). No matter
how you use her, the Raven's Neck has the potential
to dominate the seas around her.
