The Floating Stone is one of many Jade Rebellion
ships that were reassigned to the Big Six factions
starting with the Ocean's Edge release. Most of them
wound up somewhat worse for the experience; this one
broke even.
The original Floating Stone had an S+S move, a 3S
cannon, and the reroll ability for 7 points. This
one is slower, but her cannon is better and she
costs less. The Pirate-crew ability, however, is
kind of useless, because France already has any crew
you'd ever want to use on a ship like this, whose
best role is probably that of small fighter. She
needs a Helmsman to get anywhere, and that leaves
only one cargo free, so forget about running gold.
Add a Captain and she'll do fine; you can't do more
than that without spending more on crew than the
ship costs, and you can't do that.
As one-masted fighting ships go, this one isn't too
bad. Like all turtle ships, it takes three hits to
leave her derelict, or one successful ram.
France has better ships for six points (Le Bon
Marin, anyone?), but if you've got this one in your
collection, she deserves a chance to prove herself.
