Cadet-Captain Mike
Name: Sultan's Sword (Corsairs)
Card: BC #015 (Common)
Points: 10
Masts: 3
Cargo: 3
Moves: S+S
Guns : 4S,5S,6S
Hit %: 50 (S), 0 (L)
Ability: Galley. This ship gets +1 to her boarding
rolls.
The Sultan's Sword is made for boarding from stem to
stern. In fact, that's all she's good for.
Her cargo and price don't add up to a gold ship,
although she could do you some good in that area if
your fleet was running low on ships. As for
fighting, don't even ask. That 6S cannon is utterly
worthless except to shield your other masts when you
get shot at. But the boarding bonus and the Galley
ability make this ship a natural for swiping other
people's treasures. A Helmsman would help you catch
speedy enemy gold ships, or you could try John Ward
to swipe a random coin without risking a boarding
action, or use him and then board anyway for two
coins (if you didn't take the Helmsman so you have
two cargo free).
This is not a super ship. But if you use her right,
she can earn a place in your fleet. Just don't get
her into a gun battle, whatever you do.
