The real-life Amity was the flagship of Thomas Tew,
a successful pirate who should have quit while he
was ahead. This Amity is one of the best gold ships
in the game.
Anything with maxed-out speed deserves a good hard
look. Four cargo is good enough for gold, the Ghost
Ship ability lets you avoid boarding and ignore
terrain, and the price tag is fair (ghost ships tend
to be quite costly). Forget those wretched cannons,
though; your sailors would be better off throwing
cannonballs by hand than trying to land a hit with a
5S cannon.
The Amity needs no crew at all to be effective. If
you want to add any of the standard gold-ship crew
(Helmsman, Explorer, or Gentleman Jocard), they'll
make her even better, but if you're short on points,
you can send her out as she is. This is one fine
ship if you've got gold on your mind.
