After many sarcastic comments about the Bismarck on
this forum, it seems only fair that we give this
mighty ship a fair review. She hasn't seen many
Pirates battles, due to her extraordinary rarity
(apparently, only one or two were made), but if you
managed to get her, you know she is one big, bad
battleship.
She isn't much of a gold ship, due to her smallish
cargo, even though her admiral's name is Loot-Gems.
And while she rams well enough, her reason for being
is to fight. Five superb cannons and two excellent
abilities translate into the most overpowered
gunship in the 'hood. Herr Fuchs gives a move/shoot
and Cannoneer abilities; I'd add the OE Crimson
Angel (SAT and Pirate world-hater) and Stephen
Decatur (reroll and crew protection), taking
advantage of the any-crew ability. The only crew I
definitely would not use would be the American dog
named King George; his name makes me nervous for
some reason.
The only bad thing to say about the Bismarck is her
extraordinary price.
But it's fair for what you get. She fears no other
ship, except possibly F&S #071, HMS Ark Royal.
Beyond that, she's close to unsinkable.
