Name: Sea Wind (Jade)
Card: SC #008 (Common)
Points: 17
Masts: 3
Cargo: 4
Moves: S+S+S
Guns : 4L,4L,4L
Hit %: 100 (S), 100 (L)
Ability: Junk. This ship gets +1 to her cannon rolls
for every friendly ship within S of her.
Usually, when you see a ship with high speed, bad
cannons, and a sky-high point cost, she turns out to
be one of those ships that give a bonus to every
friendly ship within S. The Sea Wind is the other
way around.
Seventeen points is a lot to pay for three masts.
Her cannons can get as low as 1-rank if three
friendly ships stay close by. But can you afford
three more ships after paying this ship's cost?
Also, with so many ships that close together, many
of them won't be able to get a line of fire on the
enemy. If battle is your goal, may I humbly
recommend the Grand Path instead? She costs the same
and has better cannons, and more of them.
The Sea Wind will do well on gold, but her point
cost could buy two or three smaller ships that would
do a better job on the wild islands.
In the OE release, this ship transferred itself
to the USA as #147, a Special Edition ship, but
otherwise identical. If they could have pulled her
point cost down, she might be useful. But she's far
too expensive for what you get; I can't recommend
using her.
