Name: Capitaine Arazure (France)
Card: RF #063a (Common)
Points: 6
Ability: Loyal:France, Captain. Once per turn, you
can eliminate one of this ship's crew to give her an
extra action.
Capitaine Arazure began life as a sac captain.
France already had one such crew, Capitaine Arathiel
(CC); now they have two. If you have a choice, go
with Arathiel and not this captain, for the simple
reason that Arathiel has the exact same abilities
for one point less.
If you use Arazure, treat him the same as any
other sac captain -- put him on a powerful fighting
ship, load a few Oarsmen on board as cheap
sacrifices, and send him into the thick of the
action. (Remember, abilities don't stack, so only
the first Oarsman takes up no cargo
space.) The ability to generate a second action at
will can turn a game around in your favor,
especially when combined with the Captain ability.
The thought of a five-master like Le Soleil Royal or
Le Superbe getting two move/shoots in one turn could
ruin my day.

Name: Capitaine Arazure (France)
Card: FS #028 (Rare)
Points: 5
Ability: Hostile:England, Loyal:France. If this ship
succeeds at a boarding party, choose two of the
following: eliminate a crew, take a treasure, or
eliminate a mast.
The new version of Capitaine Arazure moves away
from a fighting role into a pure boarder. And he's a
killer.
You'll want to put him on something with a lot of
masts, so he'll win his boarding actions. And when
he wins, that's when the magic happens.
Not only does he let you do double damage from
boarding; not only does he add the third option of
smashing a mast; but he lets you, not the loser,
pick the results of the boarding action. How many
times have you boarded an enemy gold ship, expecting
to grab something shiny, and find that you'd only
killed his Explorer instead? With Arazure, that
won't happen.
There's only one other crew with this ability,
Skuld Blood-Axe of the Vikings, and he costs 7
points. Three ships can do it -- the limited-edition
HMS Wallace, the promo Chum Maker, and the 19-point
Fool's Hope. French admirals can now put that
crushing ability on any ship they please, for a very
reasonable price.
