The Sahara is an oddity among the Corsairs. She
has good cannons.
In fact, mast for mast, she has the best cannons
in the Corsair fleet.
It's too bad she has only two of them, or she'd be
dangerous. As she is, her role is clear: she should
chase down small gold ships, especially English
ones, and board them to steal their treasure. With a
Captain on board, she can board and steal three
times and still be able to defend herself against a
small fighter that gets in the way. Or she can sink
a gold ship she just boarded, and take half the
remaining treasure that way. If the enemy doesn't
cooperate, you can use her for gold; she'll do well
there, too. Or she can be the secondary fighter,
using those fine cannons to protect other galleys,
especially against the English.
The Sahara is a fine multipurpose ship for a fair
price. I just wish she were bigger, like the other
Corsair ships that have gunnery and boarding bonuses
against specific factions (Wicked Kareen, Meshud,
and Divan's Punishment are all three-masters). No
matter how you use her, she'll serve you well.
