This two-masted Spaniard can earn her keep in several ways. The only limit is what you want to accomplish with her.

Just as she is, she makes a pretty good gold ship; a Helmsman will speed her up and make her even more effective. If you'd rather use her as a secondary fighter, she's got the guns for it; give her a Captain, and a Helmsman will help here as well. If boarding is your game, her ability can make you quite wealthy (if the enemy uses Pirates). In that case, you absolutely must have the Helmsman, or those Pirate gold ships will thumb their nose and leave you in their wake. Overtake them, ram them (which will usually knock down a mast and give you a boarding advantage), then use her ability to clean them out.

In sum, El San Francisco gives you a lot of options for only eight points. Once the Helmsman speeds her up, she can do just about anything.
