The Jade Rebellion's one release (if you don't count
the super-rares in the BC release) included a lot of
good ships, and a handful of rather plain ones. Can
you guess where the Typhoon falls in that spectrum?
Her cannons say "don't take me into battle," loud
and clear, reroll or no reroll. She's an adequate
gold ship, and that reroll could make her a fair
boarder. Her linked crew, Dragon Eyes, reinforces
the boarding role; he gives a move/shoot and lets
you capture enemy crew for their point value in gold
if you win a boarding action. But Dragon Eyes costs
ten points, which means you're spending 21 points
for a three-masted ship whose role is boarding. Not
a good investment if your enemy brings a 4- or
5-masted ship to the fight.
I've never used the Typhoon. Her scores are average
or slightly above average across the board. But the
Jades have other Wind-class junks that are well
above average (the Virtuous Wind and East Wind are
among the best), so why settle for average?
