Ability: Flotilla, Extended Range. When this ship
hits another ship, you choose which mast is
eliminated.
The French flotilla, the Mont Blanc, is cut from
much the same cloth as the English Tower. In fact,
except for her ability, she's a carbon-copy of the
Englishman. So you can read my comments in
yesterday's review, and they'll apply to this
portable fort as well. Her ability isn't quite as
good, but it's very much in character for the
French, who were renowned (and hated) for their
tactic of cutting up the enemy's sails and rigging
with chainshot and running away if they didn't like
their chances in battle.
Like the Tower, this flotilla was made to be towed
into combat behind a fighting ship, and like the
Tower, she is a very good value.
