Okay, we're about due for a decent
American ship to review. USS Kentucky isn't
outstanding, but she's good enough.
The USA has always been about
fighting, even more so than England. If an American
admiral wants to win, he has to go in with primed
fuses and loaded cannons, and this ship has four of
them. 3S isn't a great cannon, but four of them are
sure to do some damage, and the built-in reroll will
usually serve as a Cannoneer to reroll missed shots.
She needs the usual Captain and Helmsman; if you can
afford a third crew, I'd recommend one of the
American world-hater crew who will give you a +1 on
most of your shots. DOn't forget the fun of ramming
and boarding somebody -- the ship's ability will
come in really handy if you lose the boarding roll.
You'll note that the Kentucky's
numbers are pretty close to average.
That's because of her low speed,
and the fact that she has no L-range guns. This is
not a world-class ship. But she'll do a perfectly
good job of sinking your enemies without costing you
all your points. If you need a break from using the
Intrepid, Enterprise, and Franklin all the time, the
USS Kentucky isn't a bad alternative.
