This week, it's France's turn for
some reviews. We'll lead off with Le Enfant
Terrible, which is not terrible at all.
This ship has a lot in common with
one of my favorite Frenchmen, Le Courageux; she's
small and inexpensive, but has enough speed and
cargo for gold, and also has the cannons of a good
support fighter, plus a useful defensive ability.
That's a roundabout way of saying "this ship is good
for gold, or fighting, or both." I love versatility
in a ship, especially in a ship whose point cost
won't break the bank. You can buy a Captain for her,
but leave him on your home island while the Enfant
makes a gold run, then load him up and head out
again, either for battle or for more gold, whichever
seems best.
By way of comparison, Le Courageux
has a bit more speed and more cargo, but costs a
point more and lacks the Galley keyword, which this
ship will usually use for its built-in Oarsman
ability. If I were collecting the French, I would
definitely want this ship, and I would use her
alongside Le Courageux as a one-two punch, combining
fighter and gold ship. Those two, plus a big
fighter, will make any Francophobe think twice about
getting hostile.
