Le Favori is a gold ship. There isn't much more to say; her cannons are too poor for fighting, and her mast count is too low for boarding. She's got the speed and the cargo to be a world-class gold runner, and her ability can protect her from all kinds of trouble. So what's the problem?

The problem is her point cost. Gold ships have to be cheap so they can pay for themselves, and so you can afford some fighting ships and crew to protect them. This schooner's ability runs her cost up far beyond the usual price tag for French gold ships (I'm thinking Le Pique and L'Intrepide for 5 points or Le Bon Marin for 6). This doesn't make her a bad ship, but it pulls her value down from "excellent" to "a little above average."

This is the ship you send to the wild islands where there might be trouble. The gold ships I just mentioned can't stand up to even casual gunfire, whereas Le Favori's ability may (or may not) protect her from the enemy. You pay more for that defensive ability, but it may be worth it to you.
