Ability: This ship may dock at an
enemy home island and load one treasure. If able,
she must leave on your next turn.
HMS Bath is named for the town in
Somerset, England, not for the act of taking a bath.
At least I hope that's the case. The ship itself is
a mix of good, bad, and indifferent.
The good is the cargo and the
ability. The bad is the cannons and the mast count.
The indifferent is the speed and the point cost.
With a Helmsman on board, she can be a pretty good
gold ship (although England has better ones). To use
her ability, she needs the same help that most other
home-island robbers need -- a Helmsman and a
fighting ship to guard her. England has better
home-island robbers, too.
Still, the threat of a HI-robber
will throw most admirals' plans into disarray, so
even if you don't go through with it, it's fun to
make threats. Then grab some gold and go home, and
hope you found high-value coins that will pay back
this ship's cost. If you can't take any of England's
good-quality gold ships or robbers, you won't go too
far wrong by taking a Bath.
