Statistics
by Einstein13
Statistics and
Probability will most likely decide a major shooting game
because of cannon rolls. I have a chart on the average hits
a ship will hit with that many masts and the cannon roll.
Note that these are the statistics of what will hit NOT who
will win (unless you compare two percentages).
Cannons __ Cannon Number ____ Hit
Ratio
5 ______________ 5 ______________

5 ______________ 4 ______________
1.66

Notice that if your ship has two 2 cannons and one 4, add
the 2, 2 plus the 1, 4 1.33+ .33 = 1.66 Most of these
answers will have a decimal on them. Say if it’s a 1.66, it
is close to 1 and 2 (closer to 2 though). So it will usually
hit twice or once. Remember that this data is just the
average hits with that many cannons NOT exactly how many
hits it will do. That’s what makes it an interesting game.
Remember to think ahead. That’s what this chart is for, to
plan and say “Hey, this ship has a worse cannon rating
against my opponent’s ship but my ship has more masts, has a
better hit ratio, and in the long run will take out their
masts then they do mine.” Math is a key point to winning
this game.
