You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 “Plunder Patroll” monster you control; equip 1 “Emblem of the Plunder Patroll”, or 1 “Plunder Patroll” monster, from your Deck to that target. You can only use this effect of “Plunder Patroll Shipshape Ships Shipping” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Plunder Patroll Shipshape Ships Shipping is the archetypes Fusion-based card.

Searchable within the archetype, functioning much like Poly. While it can target theoretically any Fiend Fusion Monster in your Extra Deck, you still need the materials for it. You won’t be play that kind of stuff in Plunder Patroll and this being a non-generic Fusion-based card that also doesn’t have “Fusion” in its name, you won’t be playing it outside the archetype. Banishing it gets you a deck thin which is nice and an attachment to a Plunder Patroll monster. An Equip Spell search or a psudo Union Monster search is good. Emblem offers effect protection and a small ATK boost, but also grants you the power to get to your Extra Deck Plunder Patroll monsters. Being able to choose from any monster’s Attribute on the field and not just your opponent increases your target range and on top of that you get to equip that new monster with Emblem to get that small 500ATK boost. The equip ability that many of the Plunder Patroll cards have benefits the Extra Deck monsters for their effects, even if you won’t get effects like Bluebeard because they need be in the Monster Zone. PPSSS is meant to help a card we’re reviewing later in the week (Plunder Patrollship Lys) search your deck when activating its effect.

Next up for the week is a Fusion Spell for the archetype since they did get a new Fusion: Plunder Patroll Shipshape Ships Shipping.

PPSSS is a Normal Spell that lets you Fusion Summon any Fiend Fusion from the Extra Deck by using cards in your hand or on field as material. A standard Fusion Summon, nothing real special, but at least it works for all Fiends and not just Plunder Patroll, even if Plunder Patroll is the preferred Deck for this. The second effect lets you banish this card from grave to target a Plunder Patroll you control and equip it with a Plunder Patroll monster or an Emblem of the Plunder Patroll from the Deck. We’ll get into Emblem tomorrow, but it’s at least an Equip to give your Extra Deck monsters the maximum ability to make good use of their effects. Getting to any monster is fine since the card at the end of the week can summon the equipped Plunders if you don’t need them equipped. At the very least you’re giving your Extra Deck monsters an equip to make their effects become Quick Effects. This last effect is the hard once per turn, and it’s the right one to have it. We don’t need hard once per turns on regular Fusion Summoning, even if it will trigger Plunder Patroll effects. Shipshape Ships Shipping is a good Spell in the archetype to summon their Fusion naturally and get more equips on your Plunders, a few copies is worthwhile.

Today we look at a Normal Magic in Plunder Patroll Shipshape Ships Shipping, affectionately known as PPSSS.  As Fusion is in this Theme now, now we have Fusion support.  Though the first bit here is open to Fiends in general.

Special Summon a Fiend-type Fusion from your Extra Deck using Hand or Field as Material.  Generic and simple enough, and again, open outside the Theme, so that’s an added benefit here.

Removing this card from your Graveyard from play lets you equip an Emblem of the Plunder Patroll or Theme Monster to another Theme Monster (this effect Targets) which is cool.  Opening up other plays while still being fairly open itself.
Very easy to use, great Fusion asset, and having the second effect makes this pretty good overall.
