Pokémon advent calendar

The holidays must be right around the corner judging by retail. If you’re planning on having a Pokémon advent calendar to herald in the season, you’ll want to head to Target quickly. The Jazwares (Wicked Cool’s owning company) Pokémon Holiday Calendar was just placed on the toy advent calendar endcap this past week and Target’s $29.99 price point is at least $10 lower than many quotes I’m seeing online, compare with GameStop’s $39.99 asking price. Figures included in the calendar are noted as 2″ scale and reading the online product description and looking at the back of the package, it’s noted that the figures have a special finish which appears to have a festive metallic sheen (I won’t be opening my package until December and likely will wait until Christmas, which I realize rather defeats the purpose of advent). I think given the contents of the box, a small string of battery powered LED lights from the craft store would be a delightful accessory for this display. Target also has the Mega Construx Pokémon advent calendar for $34.99 if you are looking for a more interactive experience. Lego Harry Potter and Lego Star Wars advent sets along with other calendars are piled high and selling well, so check early and beat the rush to keep socially distant; some items will be available online, but I didn’t spot a listing for the Jazwares calendar on Target’s website yet.

Since The Mandalorian The Child is this year’s “Elsa,” I should mention that I found The Mandalorian Monopoly game at Target, too. For folks disappointed about the game pieces made of cardboard (will wear out quickly with game play), I would like to suggest maybe buying some of the adorable Hasbro The Bounty Collection The Child figures to use as game pieces, there are 6 poses. Granted they are a bit larger than traditional Monopoly pieces, but they would at least hold up with game play and aren’t terribly expensive.
