Rocket Boss's Deck Fixes
Psyched Out
March 9, 2009
Hello Rocket Boss,
I have been playing Pokemon for almost a year and will play
in my first state next week. I have a decent deck but would
love your input and any ideas you have. So far this deck did
3-2 in the cities but does horrible in league. I am not sure
if that's because they see it alot or it's not that good. I
play in the Masters Division.

The goal is to get Dusknoir out as fast as possible with the
X and build another on the bench as well as Giratina with X.
This will give me draw power with Dusknoir and Giratina will
be able to hit with Darkness lost for 30 plus Dusknoir X
will be dishing out an additional 10 every turn. Mewtwo is
for all those pesky Big Basics out there.. Farfetch'd is a
great starter to get me where I need to be at the beginning.
Deoxys is in because he can hit big for little energy. Any
advice would be appreciated.
Charles
Hello everyone, Rocket Boss is back and today I'm checking
out a Psychic deck, a solid looking set up, with just a
couple little tweaks to be made. It looks like this deck
relies on Lv. Xs to ensure a strong defense as well as
offense, so it looks like we may need to run another of both
Mewtwo Lv. X and Giratina Lv. X, which really isn't that
much of a trouble these days since both of these Lv. Xs are
available in tins! In order to make room for these two we
can do without one of the SF Duskull, since you'll only be
able to have 3 Dusknoir out there really isn't a dire need
to have 4 Duskull. The general Dusknoir setup is to have a
DP Dusknoir in the mix, it'll keep your opponent's bench cut
down by two and it will also help make Giratina more
effective, spreading damage and sending what they manage to
setup to the Lost Zone. I realize you rely on Dusknoir for
drawing, but I'm certain that 1 DP Dusknoir in exchange for
1 SF Dusknoir would be a really good call. The trainer
section of your deck looks strong and reliable, but let's
cut down 1 Night Maintainence to make room for one of the
Lv. X we added earlier. The only other thing that I may
suggest is to replace the Duskull with the Shiney Duskull,
SH2. It'll be a good setup and get the game moving in your
direction, either way the deck, with its minor changes looks
like this:
Pokemon
Duskull (SF#59) 2
Duskull (SW#86) 1
or [Duskull SH2 x3]
Dusclops (SF#34) 2
Dusknoir (SF#1) 2
Dusknoir (DP)
Dusknoir Lv X (SF#96) 1
Giratina (PL#27) 2
Giratina Lv X (PL#124) 2
Mewtwo (MD#9) 2
Mewtwo Lv X (DP28) 2
Farfetch'd (SF#38) 4
Deoxys (LA#1)2
Supporters and Trainers
Roseanne's Research (SW#125) 4
Bebe's Search (MT#109) 4
Rare Candy (GE#102) 4
Night Maintenance (SW#120) 2
Premier Ball (SF#91) 2
Luxury Ball (SF#86) 2
Stadium
Moonlight Stadium (GE#100) 3
Energy
Psychic 17
Not too much to change Charles, but I feel that this may
make the game run a bit more smoothly for you, best of luck
at States to all! Rocket Boss is Blasting off again!
