Rocket Boss's Deck Fixes
Dragon Fury Deck
April 14, 2009
Hey there,
I have a deck that I think is pretty devastating
once started but I was wondering what it needed for
it go a little smoother. Here are the cards.
Pokemon: 21
Garchomp Lv. X x1 MD
Garchomp x2 MT
Gabite x2 MT
Gible x2 MT
Salamence (SW) x2
Shelgon x2 (SF)(SW)
Bagon x3 (SF x2) (SW x1)
Lapras x1 GE
Arcanine x1 SW
Growlithe x1 SW
Palkia G Lv. X x1 PT
Palkia G x1 PT
Altaria x1 PT
Swablu x1 PT
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 19
Warp Point x1
Switch x1
Broken Time-space x1
Super Scoop up x1
Pokemon Rescue x1
Premier Ball x1
Luxury Ball x1
Bebe's Search x1
Pokedex Handy910is x2
Level Max x1
Memory Berry x1
Professor Rowan x1
Cynthia's Feelings x1
Roseanne's Research x1
Team Galatic's Mars x2
Felicity's Drawing x2
Energy: 20
Water x10
Fire x10
The strategy is to hit anything anywhere hard.
Salamence and Palkia G both do that well but at the
expense os discarded. Palkia G does a nice job of
softening the bench with Pearl Breath and then
hitting with Hydro Shot or let Salamence Dragon
Finish anything. Garchomp Lv. X I use to bring back
Salamence I either discarded with Felicity or that
have been knocked out. Arcanine is used for a quick
switch and dealing the swift KO's to finish the
game. Altaria can heal my heavy hitters or try to
net a fast KO with Midnight Eyes+Perish song. It's
good but it sometimes doesn't run to smoothly. If
you can give me some tips on what you would do to
make it better that would be nice.

Hello there! Rocket Boss is here once again with a
Dragontastic deck fix, a promising set-up that needs a bit
of focus. In order to provide focus we'll eliminate all of
these Pokemon: Lapras, Swablu, Altaria, Palkia G and Palkia
G Lv. X. You mentioned that you use Palkia G and Swablu for
quick KO's, but if you have such thin evolution lines and
nothing to drive them then you'll often times be left with
either part of the evolution line and not the other, with
this room we'll add another Salamence, Growlithe, Arcanine and
a 2-2 Claydol line, for the obvious reasons that I'm sure we
all know of by now. Both Salamence cards have advantages
and disadvantages, so it's entirely up to you how to run
them, I recommend 2 of one and 1 of the other, experiment
with them and see what works best for you, it all depends on
the metagame in your area. The trainer section of this deck
is incredibly scattered so I'll just show you what should
work best in this deck:
Warp Point x2
Switch x2
Broken Time-space x3
Premier Ball x1
Luxury Ball x1
Bebe's Search x2
Professor Rowan x1
Cynthia's Feelings x1
Roseanne's Research x2
Team Galatic's Mars x2
Felicity's Drawing x2
With this set-up you'll be able to search what you need
Pokemon wise with the supporters and the trainers, use the
Switch/Warp Point to help with Leveling up Garchomp and
retreating those hefty Salamence if Arcanine isn't available
and with the overall metagame as of late, you need 3
stadiums regardless of how you run the rest of your deck.
The energy here are fine too considering you'll need either
3 or 4 for every big hitter in this deck, but we're over by
2 cards so we'll pull one of each color, which leaves us
with:
Pokemon: 21
Garchomp Lv. X x1 MD
Garchomp x2 MT
Gabite x2 MT
Gible x2 MT
Salamence (SW) x2
Salamence (SF) x1
Shelgon x2 (SF)(SW)
Bagon x3 (SF x2) (SW x1)
Arcanine x2 SW
Growlithe x2 SW
Baltoy x2 (GE)
Claydol x2 (GE)
T/S/S: 19
Warp Point x2
Switch x2
Broken Time-space x3
Premier Ball x1
Luxury Ball x1
Bebe's Search x2
Professor Rowan x1
Cynthia's Feelings x1
Roseanne's Research x2
Team Galatic's Mars x2
Felicity's Drawing x2
Energy: 20
Water x10
Fire x10
As always, a little more focus can go a long way. This
deck, "Dragon Fury" should prove much more of a force to
reckon with. Rocket Boss is Blasting off again!
