Metanite
1.13.2006
This
is a deck that you probably already seen in many City
Championships you've attended thus far. It is very popular
and very self-efficient - known as Metanite.
This deck uses Metagross d (Delta) and Dragonite d (Delta),
combined with Magcargo, Holon Ruins, and several other
utility cards to make the entire deck fast and efficient.
Pokemon (22):
2x Plusle (Deoxys)
2x Slugma (Collect)
2x Magcargo (Smooth Over)
3x Beldum (Call for Family)
2x Metang d (Delta Species)
3x Metagross d
3x Dratini d
2x Dragonair d
3x Dragonite d
Trainers (23):
3x Steven's Advice
1x Copycat
3x TV Reporter
3x Holon Ruins
1x Holon Research Tower
4x Celio's Network
4x Rare Candy
2x Rocket's Admin
1x Switch
1x Pokemon Retriever
Energies (15):
9x Lightning
4x Metal
2x Double Rainbow Energy
This deck takes advantage of the discard mechanisms (Holon
Ruins, TV Reporter) to put Lightning energies in the discard
pile, then uses Dragonite d to put Lightning energies
wherever is most appropriate. But it's also important to
mention that Metagross d is the main primary attacker. Thus,
it is imperative for you to get at 2 Metagross d out, so you
can replace the Active one if it's Knocked Out.
Magcargo is a key Pokemon not only because it can search for
whatever you need, but search for gyms when your opponent
lays down Battle Frontier. Therefore, this deck may also
need a 5th gym, depending on your metagame.
This is intended to be a rough draft, so don't bash me too
hard. Nevertheless, suggestions and comments are always
welcome.
