Arbok14's Hollow Welcome to another installment here in my deck hollow. Yessss…. Today we will look into a deck that essentially incorporates pure evil into its strategy. Well. Let us see how I can add a lot more darkness and even a little fluffy goodness to it. Granted, it is not frickin sharks with laser beams attached to their heads, but I am sure Dr. Evil would settle for it.
------------------------------
Hi, my name's Ryan and I wanted to have someone take a look at a deck I had in mind. A Dish Best Served Cold (Modified) Pokemon (20) 1x Glaceon Lv. X (MD-98) 2x Glaceon (MD-5) 1x Espeon (MD-18) 4x Eevee (MD-62) 2x Weavile (DP-40) 1x Weavile (SW-40) 4x Sneasel (DP-100) 2x Claydol (GE-15) 3x Baltoy (GE-60) 2x Azelf (LA-19) Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums (18) 1 x Moonlight Stadium 2 x Bebe's Search 2 x Buck's Training 2 x Roseanne's Research 3 x Dusk Ball 3 x Leftovers 3 x Quick Ball 2 x Amulet Coin Energy (20)
4x Multi Energy 4x Darkness Energy (Special) 7x Darkness Energy 5x Water Energy
The main strategy of my deck is to get out Glaceon Lv. X, using any of the Pokemon searching devices in the deck, in order to stop my opponent's Pokemon Powers from working. Then I can use my SW Weavile to get out some dark energy and then retreat when things are looking grim. Finally, I can use my DP Weaviles to Ko things with a Dark Pulse boosted by all the dark energy in the deck. Moonlight stadium is there to help switch out my DP Weaviles and when comboed with SW Weavile, it can allow Glaceon Lv. X to take out a few things and then retreat freely. Espeon is in the deck to ensure that Glaceon isn't picked off from the bench too easily. The only thing I believe is really essential to the deck is the Weavile Line, but feel free to alter the ratio of sets and what not. It would also be preferred if you kept Glaceon in there, but if there's soemthing better, feel free to take it out.
Here in Minnesota, there are a lot of Eevee decks swarming around as of late, so anything that can help deal with those pesky things would be great. Thanks for your help, Ryan ------------------------------
Alright Ryan, I like the idea for the deck, I never realized that the DP version of Weavile could ever be decently used. Now, I think I can make this deck even better, but at a huge sacrifice. I’m going to have to eliminate the Glaceon line. Alright, let’s get down to the fix:
Pokemon: Let’s start out by taking out the Eevees, Glaceon, and Espeon. Also, take out the Claydol line, because getting quick Weavile will be vital, and you will have plenty of draw power with the Pokemon you have. Finally take out 1 of the Azelf; the one remaining should be sufficient in prize swapping. That leaves us with a lot of space. I want you to add Darkrai. It will be so good in this deck, it is unbelievable. The goal will be to start with the SW Weavile to power up the DP Weavile and others. Then bring out the DP Weavile to unload tons of damage, hopefully with a Darkrai Lv. X standing by to provide more evil with its Power. The power gives all basic darkness energy the effect of a special one (10 extra damage for an attack from darkness Pokemon). Also, Darkrai is not a terrible attacker. Put 1 GE-4 Darkrai and 1 MD-3 Darkrai in to provide flexibility and sleep conditions, and the 2 Lv. X. Next, add 1 more SW Weavile to ensure you can get one easier. I have been reading the State of the Metagame articles (thanks Masked Scizor, the articles are great and really helpful), and Lopunny is a surprisingly good choice for a partner. I want you to try it out in the deck and see how it fares. With both Weavile and Darkrai, it can easily do 80 for 2 energy while healing your bench. It also has a nice draw attack if you get in a bind. Add two Buneary (MD-53) and 2 Lopunny (LA-33). That should do for the Pokemon.
-4 Eevee -2 Glaceon -1 Glaceon Lv. X -1 Espeon -3 Baltoy -2 Claydol -1 Azelf +1 Darkrai (GE-4) +1 Darkrai (MD-3) +2 Darkrai Lv. X (GE-104) +1 Weavile (SW-40) +2 Buneary (MD-53) +2 Lopunny (LA-33)
Trainers: OK, we have a lot of work to do here. You will certainly need more draw power. Add another Roseanne’s Research, 2 more Bebe’s Search, 1 more Buck’s Training, 2 Cynthia’s Feelings, and 1 Team Galactic’s Wager. Take out the Dusk Balls, Quick Balls, Leftovers, and Amulet Coins. Add in 2 Premier Balls to get out that Darkrai. Now, you will want some stuff to help out your Pokemon. Add in another Moonlight Stadium and 2 Warp Point to help you move around and disrupt your opponent. Add 4 PlusPower to maximize Weavile. Add 2 Night Maintenance and 3 Energy Restore (flippy as they are) to help you get stuff back.
-3 Dusk Ball -3 Quick Ball -3 Leftovers -2 Amulet Coin +1 Roseanne’s Research +2 Bebe’s Search +1 Buck’s Training +2 Cynthia’s Feelings +1 Team Galactic’s Wager +2 Premier Ball +1 Moonlight Stadium +2 Warp Point +4 PlusPower +2 Night Maintenance +3 Energy Restore
Energy: We can eliminate the water energy and the multi energy because we no longer have Glaceon. Also, I want you to try the deck with only basic darkness energy. This is so that it would be easier to get all of them back from the dead. If you feel that sometimes you would benefit from having them, feel free to add 4 back in instead of 4 of the basics. But first, try out the deck with only basic energy, because it may work better.
-4 Multi Energy -4 Darkness Energy (Special) -5 Water Energy +8 Basic Darkness Energy
Final Decklist:
Pokemon (17) 1x Darkrai (GE-4) 1x Darkrai (MD-3) 2x Darkrai Lv. X (GE-104) 2x Weavile (DP-40) 2x Weavile (SW-40) 4x Sneasel (DP-100) 2x Buneary (MD-53) 2x Lopunny (LA-33) 1x Azelf (LA-19)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums (28) 3x Roseanne’s Research 4x Bebe’s Search 3x Buck’s Training 2x Cynthia’s Feelings 1x Team Galactic’s Wager 2x Premier Ball 2x Moonlight Stadium 2x Warp Point 4x PlusPower 2x Night Maintenance 3x Energy Restore
Energy (15) 15x Basic Darkness Energy
I hope that this will work for you. Theoretically, it should hit very hard and fast, and the three different pokemon have a lot of synergy, so it should work. Obviously, your one problem would be that you will get OHKO’ed a lot because of your low HP all around. Hopefully now, you will be able to answer back at those OHKO’s with many of your own.
As always, send any questions to me. Even if you hated my fix, send me some feedback!!
Well, it’s back off to the hollow for me…expect me out again around Sunday?
