Muk Man on Pokemon Since I plan on going to worlds this year, I decided to chronicle my season. I hope that others may learn for my experience, and take the proper steps towards becoming a better pokemon player. I am also doing this so when I leave the game I will have something to reflect upon. My Road To Worlds… Episode 11 “Nationals Pt 1 preparation”
So after getting pwned by every deck possible,
I get a great idea for a deck to take to Nationals. I was
saying to myself, if it wasn’t for that stupid fire
weakness, then my Scizor ex deck would have done better.
That’s when I remembered that Blastoise d removes all
weakness from my active. It is part metal so I can take
advantage of that, it hits the bench, and it is a fighting
type, so I can counter the Electainite deck that has been
popping up. The only problem is I need some way to get it
out when I need it. I don’t know why, but I had a flash back
to a city championship where I played a warm up game against
Eric Nance. He was playing Lunarock, and I remember how he
used foresight to completely disrupt my set up, while at the
same time use it to set himself up. I figured hey it would
be a great tech if I ran it with Solrock to shut down
Infernape. So I start going through my legend maker box. And this rev holofoil Girafarig just jumps out and stares me in the face! I looked at it, and just went through several scenarios in my head, and it hit me….Girafarig is the play. I could foresight myself or my opponent depending on my hand, and from there confuse them while dishing out damage(confusion is my favorite status condition). Plus it being psychic means that I can keep the psychic energy in my deck and run Jirachi Ex.
I get to Nationals and play with the deck in Thursday’s tourney, with my only losses coming to serious misplays and some great playing by The World Champion “Ness” (who I finally meet for the first time, and was cool as hell!). (I have to mention the loss to the Metanite deck that ran 3 Brinneys compassion and no stadiums or windstorms. I was saving my cursed stone for a surprise ko, but after I got a second in hand I played it and they kept me from taking 3 prizes with brinneys, while winning on time.) But I’m seeing so many good decks now that I’m here, I scramble to build them all… I’m serious I had 4 decks built for nationals, and was ready to play them all… but in the end I was comfortable with Scizor ex so that’s what I ran.
What happens next? Will it work? stay tuned for the next installment. Episode 12 “Nationals Pt 2. Swiss ” ~Muk Man~ For questions or comments, send an email to Treluv3@Excite.com AIM=Xx804IcemanxX WWW.Myspace.Com/ImVa
