Thursday, 10.26.06  This week, we're taking more sneak peeks at Ex Dragon Frontier with our Pokemon Cards of the Day. Today we got the Jason "Ness" Klaczynski (2006 World Champ) & Alex "Chuck" Brosseau (5th at World in 2006) have their thoughts on Tyranitar EX. 

Errors with Pokemon Diamond & Pearl: "Pokemon Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are the hottest-selling games in Japan at the moment. The games sold an unprecedented 1.6 million copies their first week and have since gone on to ship around 2.5 million units in Japan. 

The official Pokémon Web site issued a statement yesterday regarding a problem in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl software.  The bug causes players to become stuck in walls in certain rooms. In some instances it can even lead to the malfunctioning or loss of saved game data. The games' Web site gives instructions on how to get around these issues.

In addition, it was announced that a patch will be distributed through DS Stations at participating stores throughout Japan and at all Pokémon Center branches on October 27. It seems unlikely that these problems will affect North American or European gamers, because the fixes will almost certainly be added to the games before they go on sale." - source - Gamespot

Pokemon USA Editorial Director Lawrence Neves stopped by The CBS Early Show plaza to help mark the 10th Anniversary.  He said, "We are here to celebrate ten years of Pokemon craziness, over 140 million games, 15 billion trading cards in circulation. "It promotes a lot of interactivity among kids, reading skills, math skills; it's one of the best games out there for younger kids and older kids alike. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl sales near 1.6m - "According to NTT Publishing's EG game news site, the new Nintendo DS Pokémon games Diamond and Pearl accrued combined sales of 1.58 million units during their debut week of September 28 through October 1. This beats the franchise's former champions of first-week sales, Pocket Monster Gold/Silver, which combined moved 1.41 million copies back in 1999. The best single title for debut sales on the DS continues to be New Super Mario Bros., which racked up 865,024 units its first week. The Pokemon Learning League is now open.  This is a web-based educational suite of animated, interactive lessons in language arts, math, science, and life skills for children ages 8-12. Parents can now embrace their children's enthusiasm for animation and interactive technology while motivating them to learn academic concepts and problem-solving skills.  Pokemon USA is offering the program as a free trial to families, as well as educators, through December 31. A yearly subscription of $95.00 per household will begin in January 2007.
