BITE ME
E-BAY PRICE GOUGERS!
I found my goodies at TRU! :D Here's the news: For shoppers seeking the new TFG, Toys 'R' Us has the starter packs priced at $17.99 ea. and the individual figures $3.99 ea. The only individual figures I have spotted so far are Groudon, Kyogre, Absol, Torchic, Mudkip and Pikachu; of course, the starter packs have the other figures which you can see at go-pokemon.com. I understand from speaking with gaming store owners that the 2-figure and 3-figure packs were not going to be shipped with this round. I will keep you posted if I hear/see otherwise. Thank you very much to the staff at TRU, Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer and my local gaming stores for being so helpful and kind responding to my and other customers' inquiries. --------- For people
in Central Ohio seeking the TFG, you might try
calling The Guardtower at (614)488-4311. They
were the only place with a Pokemon League around
here and the owner just received some cases of
the TFG--but, who knows how long they will last,
so, CALL FIRST please. My information about
which pieces shipped is still accurate per what
I said Friday; I had the opportunity to view a
fresh case. Therefore, it's unlikely you'll be
seeing the entire set of figures just yet
(unless you're buying the imports).
Interestingly, all the figures so far have come
with bases (you get either a white team or a
black team base--silly me, I didn't pay attn.
when I bought my 2 starter sets and I have 2
white sets which isn't a problem except I was
buying with having it in mind if I had a friend
over, I'd need 2 sets... So watch your bases!
:). The import 2-pack I bought did not have
bases, those only came with import starters. It
looks like the U.S. bases can be separated from
the figures, too, because they have tabs on
there where the 2 base pieces connect--I just
haven't had time to check out the instructions,
I work full-time! ;) Therefore, you'd have
some flexibility about changing team colors
depending on what color your opponent has on
their bases. Gosh, this may have been covered
at the demo sessions, but, the guy that demo'd
me didn't say much about anything. In fact, the
folks at the kiosk didn't know answers to many
of my questions. I've had the same problem with
TRU; we were sent an e-mail from the Pokemon
site about TRU's "Pokemon Shop" but the TRU
managers here locally didn't know anything about
the promotion (odd, as they had the island set
up right in front of the entrance!). I'll let
you know if I see/hear anything new! Good luck
finding your figures!
