Just sticking
my head in from a grueling week of
commuting/jury duty to give y'all a heads up on
what I've spotted on store shelves trying to get
some much needed stress relief by escaping into
toyland (which reminds me, Regigigas download
starts Sunday 3/8 @TRU).
First off, remember those nice pix from Toy Fair
2009 we found on the web a few weeks ago? I
have in my hands that cute winking Pichu from
the new wave of Single Pack Jakks figures! TRU,
$5.99, wave includes: Gastly, Porygon, Gligar,
Golbat, Wooper, Pichu, Kabuto, Omanyte,
Hippopotas, Chingling and Gardevoir. The
new packaging is bright Pika yellow, just like
you saw in the Toy Fair pix and the Pokemon logo
is surrounded by "platinum" foil stamp. Pi!
TRU has also gotten several new styles of
Platinum themed DS system cases including
"envelopes" with your choice of Giratina or
Shaymin Sky Forme designs, under $20.
Next, spotted at Meijer for $19.99, we have
another Collector's Poster Box set, this one
with a Yanmega foil. Omahanime, I'm counting on
you to provide a scan--that is, if you haven't
already. I haven't had "real" internet access
all week and you all know how my home PC is...
:P
Looks like we should be expecting more fun stuff
on the shelves as the Platinum and DVD release
dates get nearer. And BTW, although this isn't
Pokemon related, for you Moms and/or gals
reading, TRU has set up a Happy Birthday
Barbie--50th Anniversary display and I was
finally able to get the 1967 reproduction doll.
Check it out when you go for your Regigigas
downloads; I would have to say that Barbie and
Lego are the reasons for my lifelong love affair
with toys. Sure brings back some fond memories
to see repro dolls from 1959, 1962, 1967, 1971,
1977 and 1986. Who knows, mebbe Mom will go
home with a little something from this trip-!
Enjoy! Pika!
