The Mysteries of Retail...

 

News isn't exactly "new" but I thought I would pop by with some updates. One thing that is new is the Vizkids manga "Giratina and the Sky Warrior," due out this week; I picked up my copy early at a local mall bookstore Friday and from a cursory comparison to the Japanese version, the artwork seems about the same (well, to be fair, there wasn't exactly anything to censor! ;) but the American tome is a little larger sized. There were a few things I spotted at the stores that had me scratching my head, though, hence the headline... Remember that Best Buy "exclusive" Platinum TCG poster box set with the Magnezone foil? I spotted that at my local Target last week. Also spotted at Target, a reissue(?) of a TCG ex series Trainer kit with the Minun and Pluse foils--the box was different than the box I had purchased some time ago and it had a copyright 2009 on it so it is definitely a recent release (pardon, I don't visit the official site regularly, the info may very well be on the TCG site). I'm curious if the contents duplicates the original set--omahanime?--you up to check that out? :) While at TRU, I saw some new (with the Pika Yellow packaging) Jakks "tubes" of figures, 3 different combinations, a Stage 2 starter starring in each. had inquired about this recently--deluxe talking plush! The wave I spotted at Meijer last Labor Day (and subsequently clearanced out in early 2009) shows up at TRU! Pachirisu, Buneary, Starly and Wobuffett! So if you missed your chance (the plush were spotted late last year at Meijer, Kroger Marketplace and someone on the web mentioned K-mart), TRU now has 'em for $15.99 (lower than the $19.99 I saw at Meijer and Kroger) per the shelf tag. Although TRU restocked the newest wave of mini-plush, again I didn't manage to hit the store early enough to see the entirety of the case (Snorlax, Sneasel, Lickilicky, Drifblim, Wingull, Riolu--that's all I've seen personally, very frustrating, as I see rumors of other characters on toywiz.com and e-Bay...). TRU did have some shrink-wrapped kids'(?) t-shirts, squashed to the size of a flat Pokeball, in white, the design pictured on the package not particularly noteworthy. Wal-mart is your best bet for kids' Pokemon t's at the moment, as theirs are much more colorful.

Well, that's it for now, not much, sorry... Guess I'll go back to Diamond, I just earned my last gym badge--after playing for nearly 100 hours and 2 years... :P I'm chasing the last of those 3 psychic Pokemon from the caves, can't remember its name, trying to raise a Gastly's level so I can trap the thing with Mean Look. I celebrated capturing Dialga by placing a Jakks Buneary mini-plush on the big plush's back with the Pikachu for a victory ride... :) Yes, I'm behind the curve, no? ;) Pi!
