Loretta's Pokemon Toy Blog Halloween Follows Back-to-School, Right? ;)
LOL, after posting my Back-to-School report <ducking!> last week, what better way to follow up than with a Halloween report? ;) Actually, I found an officially licensed Pikachu cosplaying mask at my local Japanese gift shop Friday; being the busy little Combee and hiking a one hour walk to Origins over the weekend, I didn't have time to snap a picture. However, I did find a picture randomly on e-Bay:
Mine still had its ShoPro sticker on its chin; I am fortunate that my local grocery and gift shop seem to carry official merch., even if it does say "for sale in Japan only." :)
New on my local Barnes & Noble bookshelf is this cute 32 page book about Sinnoh Legendary Pokemon:
$3.99 and out a bit early, July 1, 2009, release. This is strictly light summer reading, colorful but not too much text, a fun, quick read.
Good news on the toy front: the new Throw Pokeballs (Mime Jr., Chatot, Finneon) have shown up on Meijer shelves. I'm keeping my eyes open for more new releases in the Pika yellow packaging.
Origins was kind of a bust for me; PUSA, being in St. Louis, pretty much deflated the chances of seeing any significant Poke merch in Cowtown, but luckily, two Ohio anime retailers were there with a selection of cute imported Poke plush. Alas, I did not spot any Pokemon TCG singles for browsing.
Being a bit behind in viewing the anime, I was pleasantly surprised to see some cute, gushy Pikachu-Buneary scenes in the new Battle Dimension DVD release. Who says romance is dead? ;) The DVD set was available at Target and Wal-mart this past weekend and I spotted individual volumes available at TRU and Meijer.
At least I wasn't attacked by a Beedrill on my hike this year... :O Pi!!!
