Turning Psy Shadow's Disadvantage into an
Advantage
Gardevoir's Pokepower: Psy Shadow lets you power
up your pokemon quickly but at a cost of two damage on the pokemon. I've found
an idea to use this damage as an additional damage. I was recently checking on
the latest pokemon from the Team Rocket Returns expansion and a certain card
caught my interest. It was Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex. This pokemon had an
interesting attack, it was its Darkness Switch Attack. This attack lets you swap
damage counter's with the Defending Pokemon by discarding one Psychic energy.
What's that got to do with Gardevoir? If you have 3-4 gardevoirs you
can have TR Mewtwo ex fully charged and with 80 damage to throw
at your opponent's active pokemon. Another strategy is to have TR Mewtwo
ex take the damage from your opponent's attacks (as long as it isn't
knocked out) and use PsyShadow to adjust the damage for a one turn KO (since
darkness switch requires one psychic energy). I've also thought of some
other trainer combos with this existing combo like Team Rocket's Hideout (the
new one) to hold more damage counters and even Revive for an instant 50 on
TR Mewtwo ex (or getting back TR Mewtwo if he gets killed by some lucky hit).
Sorry for this really long tip, since this is my first time to submit one and I
really wanted to share some of my ideas. Thank you for reading this
tip.
