Reeve Dusclops
# 356.
Type: Ghost.
Ability: Pressure.
Locations: Evolve Duskull, Sky Pillar (Ruby).

Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing the Cyclops Pokémon; Dusclops.

Dusclops is a very good Pokémon in tournament environment. Not just because it is an excellent tank, but it’s also able to defeat other tanks. Dusclops has very high defensive stats and very poor speed, but that’s not a big problem.

I hate the pressure ability, but with a correct Dusclops move combination. It is actually good enough to earn yourself a slow and enjoyable victory.

I have 2 move combinations for you this week. Both of them are very effective but I think the first one is easier to use.

Dusclops.
Nature: Careful (+ Special defense, - Special attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special Defense.
- Mean look
- Will-o-wisp
- Confuse ray
- Night shade

Looks easy, huh? Mean look and everything else is just to make then suffer. The weak point with this one is that you don’t have a way to restore your health, as you’ll have with our next set.

Dusclops.
Nature: Bold (+ Defense, - Attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 129 Defense, 129 Special Defense.
- Ice beam
- Will-o-wisp
- Rest
- Calm mind

I like this combination for my teams, the problem with this one is that your opponent is able to switch at any time. So a Hazer could destroy your CM strategy or maybe a Slaking with shadow ball might be able to take you out. Remember to rest when necessary.

When should I use this Pokémon?
If you like slow and full of strategy battles then use this. Avoid using Dusclops if you can’t stand long battles.

What should I use against this Pokémon?
I’m not sure. You could use a powerful boosted special sweeper or a fast Slaking with shadow ball. Just remember that Dusclops is able to use rest. So if you think it’s going to use that. Hit fast a hard, if not you’ll be in serious trouble.

Bottom line:
There aren’t many ghosts out there. Dusclops is definitely one of the best. Gengar is still the king of ghosts.

Rating:
3.5/5

Hope you enjoyed.
Reeve.
