Hi everyone. Welcome to our Christmas Special
Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re reviewing two very special guys
this season; the Christmas duo Delibird the Delivery Pokémon and
Stantler the Big horn Pokémon.
Delibird.
# 225.
Type: Ice / Flying.
Ability: Vital spirit / Hustle.
Locations: Icefall cave (Firered), snag from
Cipher peon Arton (Colosseum), swarm in route 216 (Diamond,
Pearl).
Unfortunately, Delibird has horrible stats, being
the worse its defenses and attack. It learns one unique attack
which is Present, a luck move that either damages or restores
your foe. Its type combination isn’t that awesome either, but
hey, it’s almost Christmas isn’t it?
With vital spirit you are immune to sleep
condition, and Hustle lets you increase your attack but
decreases your speed, which isn’t a very big issue on this
Pokémon.
Let’s move on to the move combinations, let’s see
what’s up with this guy…
Delibird.
Nature: Jolly (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Leftovers.
EV´s: 252 HP, 252 Speed, 6 Defense.
- Toxic
- Hail
- Protect
- Substitute
Delibird.
Nature: Jolly (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Life orb.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP.
- Aerial ace
- Ice shard
- Ice punch
- Brick break
This thing may be a sweeper somehow and this is
the best thing you can do with it. A lot easier to use as it is
just sweeping…
When should I use this Pokémon?
Use it when battling with your cousins this
Christmas eve. It is fun to share with the ones you love and it
is way better if you can battle them this season… I wouldn’t
suggest you to use this competitively.
What should I use against this Pokémon?
A strong rock slide will be deadly; almost any
good rock type move will do it. Fire types are good too

Stantler.
# 234.
Type: Normal.
Ability: Intimidate / Frisk.
Locations: Zafari Zone, Altering cave (Emerald),
Altering cave (Firered, leafgreen), Snag from Chaser Liaks (Colosseum),
Route 207 (Pearl)
Having no evolution and being a normal type makes
Stantler a pretty underused Pokémon. It is not that bad but it
doesn’t have a very good move pool and its defenses are very
weak. The best thing you can do with Stantler is sweep, so it is
better if you baton pass some stats first.
Let’s move on to the move combinations, let’s see
what’s up with this guy…
Stantler.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).
Equip: Liechi berry.
EV´s: 252 Attack, 252 HP, 6 Speed.
- Zen headbutt
- Thunder wave / Hypnosis
- Return / Me first
- Earthquake
Paralyze or hypnotize your foe, it{s up to you.
Then just sweep with all you’ve got. If you are battling faster
Pokémon use Me first, if not Return will be ok.
When should I use this Pokémon?
Tag team with Stantler? Well, it{s not the best
Pokémon ever, but show your friends it’s not about the Pokémon
but the trainer…
What should I use against this Pokémon?
Burning or poisoning Stantler will either kill it
or force a switch, either way it is very effective, Seismic toss
or any fighting type move will do pretty well.
