Rayquaza.
# 384.
Type: Dragon / Flying.
Ability: Air Lock.
Locations: Transfer from GBA (Diamond, Pearl), Special Event,
Sky Pillar (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald).
Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re
reviewing Rayquaza, the sky high Pokémon.
Rayquaza is still one of the most powerful Pokémon out there. It
is as powerful as Mewtwo, but not as used. It has just one weak
point (we’ll discuss that later) but it’s nothing to
underestimate, never. As most dragons, it’s dangerous but very
friendly for rookie trainers and overall, it is quite a
powerful.
Air lock has some uses after all, blocking weather effects can
mess with some pretty well planned strategies…
Let’s move on to the move combinations, let’s see what’s up with
this guy…
Dragon dance gives Rayquaza some awesome advantage, especially
if you predict a switch. Just use dragon dance a couple of
times, do not over use it as Rayquaza does not have a recovery
move. Just sweep as soon as possible.
The special sweeper is even easier to use. It covers almost
every type, so switching is not always necessary, unless you
fight a tank or something like that. Overall you will be safe
with this guy on your side.
When should I use this Pokémon?
Using dragons is easy, but once defeated, you might have some
kind of psychological disadvantage. Use it whenever you want but
do not depend on it too much, balanced teams are essential for
us to become good trainers.
What should I use against this Pokémon?
Ice attacks are awesomely effective against Rayquaza, but you
still need fast Pokémon to use that kind of move. Mewtwo and
speed Deoxys with ice beam will probably take Rayquaza out
fairly easily. Tanks are also good.
Bottom line:
Rayquaza is one of the most powerful Pokémon out there, no
question about it. Be careful, and as a side note, shiny
Rayquaza looks pretty awesome.

A dragon type that looks little
like a dragon.
At least a little bit. Last one I checked was Dragonair, no
other looks like
a dragon.
Air Lock is good for those who use alot of different weathers to
boost their
teams. Else it is just meh.
Done to many regular sweepers so I'm sticking with Special
sweeper on this
one to. Nature for speed.
Raises S.Atk. in a pinch.
Weakness against Rock, Dragon and big against Ice.
Attacks are regualr sweeping attacks.
It's up to you to choose between Energy Ball and Rest.
Energy Ball is for sweeping power against Rock types but Rest
gives you the
ability to heal up.

Infact I just wanted to give him 3 but because he atleast looked
more like a
dragon then the rest of the dragon types he gets another point
raising it to
4.
If anyone has any Event Legendary that I can get data on, just

Rayquaza is both very potent
and vulnerable at once. To fulfill its potential, threats must
be removed beforehand. Weakness to stealth rock means a switch
war between Rayquaza and its ice beam wielding counters will
damage it heavily. Balanced and requiring prediction but can pay
off in the end.
