Hi everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re
reviewing Venusaur, the seed Pokémon.
Probably the best starter for in game purposes ever. This one
used to be bad in competitions (back in the cable link days)
because everybody used Alakazam then. Today it is a decent
Pokémon, it has pretty good stats including special defense,
which is always good.
Overgrow is always good if you are using it on a special grass
attacker, unfortunately Venusaur is better being a Poison type
than a Grass one.
Venusaur is very good annoying people, so that’s what we’re
going to do with the move combination:
So, this one is the defensive type, kind of a hit and run. Use
leech seed, toxic and substitute, then attack. Switch when
convenient. You can switch magical leaf for sludge bomb if you
feel is better (and I’d really suggest trying).
When should I use this Pokémon?
Venusaur is not used as often as Jolteon or Diglett. But give it
a shot, I can almost guarantee you it will have good results.
This is something else to try if you like using Ludicolo.
What should I use against this Pokémon?
Something good enough with fire blast or overheat, such as
Charizard, Salamence or even Moltres. Psychics are effective as
well.
Bottom line:
Next Sunday is the official Pokémon Diamond & Pearl launch. I
hope you can get your copy and enjoy it as soon as possible.
I’ll be posting my friend code for trading and battling soon.

Hope you enjoyed.

Another Week, another pokemon
for the strength. This time it is the little
dino with the flower Venusaur
Here it depends on what kind of battles you are after.
1v1 battles:
1. Sunny day and Solarbeam to oblirate that water pokemon.
2. Synthesis to make sure you have life, as Rest do.
3. If not going Sunny Day/Solarbeam, Substitute and Razor Leaf.
Synthesis
and Rest if needed.
2v2 battles:
1. Here it depends. If you have a pokemon with Sunny day have
Solarbeam
instead of Razor Leaf.
2. Razor Leaf have high crit chance so it can go through any
stat changes
that has lowered your Sp. Atk. or highten the enemies Sp. Def.
3. Rest and Synthesis is for getting life.
4. Substitute is to make sure he doesn't die in the beginning.
Today we are reviewing the Seed Pokémon, Venusaur.
To many, Venusaur is not a good Grass Pokemon to use in battle.
They say this because of “better” choices like Sceptile and
Exeggutor. Well, to those people, I say “you’re wrong.” Venusaur
is the better choice because it is not weak to bug and poison
attacks.
With that said, here are some battle strategies for Venusaur:
A Physical Sweeper. Use Frenzy Plant only when Venusaur is about
to die.
Bottom Line: Venusaur is an underrated Pokemon. When used
properly, it can be a great Pokemon. Just keep away from fire.

Venusaur
Venusaur can lay many status afflictions on opponents. Great
choices are leech seed and sleep powder. In standard battling
there exists a 'sleep clause' whereby you are not allowed to
choose a sleep move if one of their pokemon is already asleep.
This stops Venusaur from being as good as it is in-game and
putting your opponent's whole team to sleep. Venusaur is a good
choice to support your other pokemon so they can attack a
handicapped pokemon Venusaur has prepared.
