Pokédex Data:
Its abdomen is a honeycomb for grubs. It raises its grubs on
honey collected by Combee. When endangered, grubs from its
six-cell honeycomb strike back. There is only one in a colony.
Exams are over for this month and I feel just great. Today we’ll
review Vespiqueen for our good friend and reader Mike, so let’s
discover the good and bad things about this queen.
Vespiquen is underused Pokémon mainly because of its poor stats
and limited movepool. It has its signature moves (restore,
defense and attack orders) and that’s pretty good I guess. I’m
not a big fan of bug types anyway, but let’s try the best we can
shall we?

Nature: Impish (+ Defense, - Special attack), Careful (+ Special
defense, - Special attack).
EV’s: 252 Defense / 252 Special defense / 6 HP.

- Protect / Toxic
This one is just for fun. You have to be as defensive as you can
and hit when you have the chance.
Choice bander.
Vespiqueen@Choice band.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).
EV’s: 252 Attack / 252 HP / 6 Defense.
- Aerial ace
- U-turn
- Attack order
- HP fighting
If you insist, this is the most offensive set you can get. I
really like the choice band / u-turn combo. So use it at will.
If you hit and switch at least you can protect it a little bit
more, but be careful, its speed is bad.
Pros.
If you really like this Pokémon as our friend Mike, then give it
a chance. Protect it, use it carefully, you might get lucky…
Remember every Pokémon deserves a chance.
Counters.
Rock and steel types. If we talk about underused Pokémon too;
Mawile, Probopass and some tanks as Vileplume or Muk will work
great.
Bottom line.
I am about to get my platinum copy so with time we’ll be getting
more strategies, items or moves. There is still a lot to learn
about the Pokémon world =)
